Stay-cation in Western Kentucky

In anticipation of an upcoming visit from family members from the other side of the United States, I queried the the local homeschoolers about their favorite "tourism" things to do in our neck of the woods. Who else can give the best suggestions when it comes to family and (mostly) wallet friendly? With gas prices approaching $4/gallon we need to think rationally. (A sarcastic "Thank you" to Mr. Obama and his cronies. I sorely miss Pres. Bush's $1.84/gallon days.....)

So, here's a rundown of some great ideas (almost all linked) for summer fun for your family whether or not you have extended family or friends coming to visit. If you have any other ideas or recommendations, take a minute and leave a comment! Links welcome.
