The Gang Shows off History Projects

One of the drawbacks (dare I mention it?) to homeschooling is the lack of outlets for our children to share what they've learned. Well, they can always find a captive audience when it comes to Mom and Dad; and Grandma and Grandpa will sit and listen to the children share, provided they live close enough to be regular visitors. But finding an audience outside that realm can be a little tricky. My boys have even been willing to engage the postman and an occasional repair guy in a bit of chat over some little pursuit or piece of educational trivia. Our "bug guy" will even check out the boys' projects as he's ridding our house of pests, but we're on the every-three-months plan so whole learning units come and go between his visits.

So....what to do? Take the projects to church of course.

Accompanied by other homeschool friends, you can enjoy a little attention and share your knowledge with yet another "captive" audience. Well, families do have to be there for Bible Study and worship right?

Some of our children took advantage of the Mug & Muffin time to share their history projects with others.

As people enjoyed their coffee and donuts behind me, they had a nice history lesson at the side of the hall.

Jariah as George Washington and Jared in front of his display and report about Alvin C. York.

JaRon and Gracie in front of his depiction and report about the Trail of Tears.

Seth by his display about the Magna Carta.

  1. Outstanding! I found myself wishing I could read those displays! So much work and they all did such a great job in the artistry as well!
